15 Chemist Reflection

This is about an article that I read, It had 15 chemists and not one of them was a woman or a person of color.

Bias is when they are one sided to something like in the article they are bias to old white men with lots of profit

Conscious bias is when they know that they are being bias to whatever they are being bias to. In this article they are consciously bias about trying to show that white men make all the profit and women may not be able to.

In the early 1800’s coenraad Johannes Van Houtan discovered cocoa powder. He discovered this by taking most of the butter out of cocoa, he could create powdered chocolate

Elements My Maps

This is the my maps that I have made about were the names and places some elements come from. This is the first time I have used my maps and it was great, it was easy to use and was quike loding. I have used Google journey and that was very similar so I was kinda good at using it.It was also very fun making it. Have you ever used my maps.

Cybersmart Screenshots

Today I have had a reminder on how to do screenshots. we first watched a video, then made a collage with some things we had to get screenshots of and last we made our own creature. All of the work is on the slide. We learnt how to take whole screen screenshots (Ctrl show desk) and part screen screenshots (Ctrl shift show desk). did you know how to screenshot?

Persuasive Writing Paragraph

Draft 1

Did you know that if your tesla goes in too much water and it gets into the battery it will catch on fire? Yeah, the chemical element (lithium) makes fire when mixed with water, the lithium also has to be mined and has a negative impact on the environment and human rights. Some of the people mining for this stuff are doing it against their will, how would you feel if you had to do that. The best alternative to have less impact on climate change is hydrogen, Toyota have made the mirai which uses hydrogen to power it and when you finish it just lets out a little dribble of water out the exhaust.

We are learnig about persuasive writing . in this I used a rhetorical question and facts.

Draft 2

Teslas are awful! Did you know that if your tesla goes in too much water and it gets into the battery it will catch on fire? Yeah, the chemical element (lithium) makes fire when mixed with water, the lithium also has to be mined and has a negative impact on the environment and human rights. Some of the people mining for this stuff are doing it against their will, how would you feel if you were taken against your will to mine for some lithium. The best alternative to have less impact on climate change is hydrogen, Toyota have made the mirai which uses hydrogen to power it and when you finish it just lets out a little dribble of water out the exhaust.  The only problem with hydrogen is that there are not a lot of charging stations but by the end of this year there should hopefully be enough. so if you are thinking about getting a tesla or another electric car this year you might want to consider getting a hydrogen car to take better care of our environment and have your car not catch on fire while washing or driving it.

This is my second draft, on this one I tried to make it more persuasive because the first one was almost just an opinion about what I thought. Do you think that my second draft is more persuasive?

Soon I will be going to Spencer park for a one night camp. In my other camps we were in propper buildings but at this camp we are going to sleep in tents. We also had meals cooked for us at previous camps but now we have to cook our own meals. My group is me, Jamahni and Archie, we are cooking tacos for our dinner. For the meal we have to split all the ingredients between each other so one person wasn’t bringing all the ingredients, we also had to bring our own tent and cooking utensils. To get there we have an option to bike or walk, I picked to bike, the bike ride will be through the forest. On the second day before we leave we have some activities to do: adrenalin forest, forest explorer, beach science and lagoon scavenger hunt, I chose the adrenaline forest, if you don’t know what that is it is climbing to the top of some trees with some ropes, there are 6 levels: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, I hope to do level 6. The tent I am taking is borrowed so I will be able to show resilience and put it up. It will be good to be able to learn some other peoples names, I will also help cook my meal with my friends instead of just letting them cook it so I hope they do the same. Have you been camping before?

Joke of the day

This is the joke of the day that I have made for literacy. This is an old summer learning journey activity. Do you know many jokes?

Top Team

Today I have done top Team with canterbury sport. My favourite activity was the sponge passing one where you had to pass the sponge along the line and then squeeze it in the bucket. The hardest was the one where you had to planks and some slots for our feet and had to get along with the hole team in two slots each. I would definitely recommend it for any other people that might have the oppertunity in the future because all the activities are different and there is an activity for everyone.
